Each weekday, our skilled team of schedulers, dispatchers, and drivers work together to ensure that Henderson County residents can enjoy safe, comfortable, and timely transportation.

Transportation Services for Independence and Accessibility

Our weekday services are available for Medicare and Medicaid recipients, seniors, individuals with disabilities, and rural residents without access to dependable transportation. Check out our options below to find the service that best fits your needs and helps you take control of your journey.

Due to high demand, schedules fill up quickly. We recommend booking local rides 2-3 weeks in advance and 3-4 weeks ahead for out-of-county trips.

Americans with Disabilities Act

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in everyday activities. The ADA guarantees that people with disabilities have the same opportunities as everyone else to enjoy employment opportunities, purchase goods and services, and participate in state and local government programs.

Reasonable Modifications

Private transit systems must provide people with disabilities an equal opportunity to benefit from their services. WNCSource will make reasonable modifications to its policies and procedures upon request. To make a request, please call (828) 698-8571 and speak with the Director of Transportation.

If an individual files a Title VI or ADA Complaint or Reasonable Modification Request and is dissatisfied with WNCSource Transportation’s decision, they have the right to appeal the decision to a higher level within the agency. Any Appeal will be heard by a separate person or committee than who made the original decision. An appeal may be filed by contacting the Henderson County Transportation Advisory Board at 828-697-4819.

WNCSource provides free, door-to-door transportation for Henderson County residents. This service is powered by federal, state, and local grants, along with private donations. While our services are free to most riders, your gift can make a real difference by helping us connect even more neighbors to the heart of our community.

Public Transit

WNCSource operates Apple Country Public Transit (ACPT) under the direction of Henderson County Government and the local Transportation Advisory Board. We provide safe, reliable public transit services Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM. ACPT operates three hourly bus routes and ADA Paratransit services that connect riders to key destinations in Hendersonville, Fletcher, and Laurel Park.
