WNCSource Transportation Services contracts with Henderson County to provide Public Transportation and ADA Paratransit through Apple Country Transit.
WNCSource Transportation Services also receives Federal and State grants which are matched by local community funds and donations that allow us to provide helpful transportation services throughout Henderson County. This includes transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping, senior activity programs, work training, and with other needs. WNCSource Transportation is able to serve a variety of transportation needs for Henderson County residents through the support of Federal, State and local community grants and private donations.
Due to high demand, our schedules fill up fast. It is recommended to call 2-3 weeks in advance with your requests for local appointments and 3-4 weeks ahead for appointments outside of the county*
*We travel on Tuesdays and Thursdays ONLY to either Buncombe or Transylvania County for medical appointments. Based on Availability.
There is no fee to ride. But if you would like to make a donation you may.
There is NO requirement to donate to be able to ride.
The general public who live in qualifying areas of Henderson County can call and request transportation on one of our vehicles. Based on availability.
Our vehicles provide medical trips for Henderson County residents of all ages to and from doctor’s offices, clinics and hospitals five days per week. Based on availability.

Henderson County residents 60 years or older, who live in qualifying areas, are eligible for transport to various stores for light shopping before going to the Sammy Williams Center for lunch and entertainment. Based on availability.
Henderson County residents 60 years or older who live in qualifying areas are eligible for transport to various stores once a week for grocery shopping. Where you live determines what day of the week you are eligible to shop on. Based on availability.

For residents of Edneyville who live in qualifying areas. We offer a demand response service to bring residents to Walmart, where they can catch Route 1 into town.
A resident needs to either call the day before or BEFORE 8:30 A.M. the morning of the request. Both the going in and return trips reservations must be made together at these times.
We pick up during the 9 o’clock, 10 o’clock, & 11 o’clock hours in the morning, and the 2 o’clock, 3 o’clock, & 4 o’clock hours in the afternoon. Per their request clients will be picked up sometime during the requested hour depending on demand.
