WNCSource Transportation provides a variety of services including:

  • Transportation to Congregate Meal Sites & Shopping Program
  • Medical Transportation (Non-Emergency)
  • Transportation for Elderly and Disabled Residents
  • Shopping/Grocery Routes
  • Rural General Public Transportation

WNCSource is able to serve a variety of transportation needs for Henderson County residents through the support of Federal, State and local community grants and private donations. There is no fee to use our Community Transportation services. Donations are voluntary and greatly appreciated. There is NO requirement to donate to be able to ride.

Many of these services are door-to-door! Due to high demand, our transportation schedules fill up fast. It is recommended to call at least 2-3 weeks in advance with your requests for local appointments and 3-4 weeks ahead for appointments outside of the county.

Lunch & Light Shopping

WNCSource offers transportation for seniors (age 60+) to the Senior Lunch congregate meal program at the First United Methodist Church (204 6th Ave. W, Hendersonville). We also offer transportation for shopping destinations in Henderson County. Based on availability.

Medical Transportation

WNCSource provides medical trips for Henderson County residents (all ages) to and from doctor’s offices, clinics, and hospitals five days per week. Based on availability.

Elderly and Disabled Transportation 

Our handicap-accessible vehicles provide medical trips for Henderson County residents 60 years or older or those with a disability; to and from doctor’s offices, clinics, and hospitals five days per week. Disabled individuals who work and need regular transportation to their workplace are encouraged to ride with us! Based on availability.

Shopping/Grocery Routes

Henderson County residents 60 years or older who live in qualifying areas are eligible for transport to various stores once a week for grocery shopping. Where you live determines what day of the week you are eligible to shop on. Based on availability.

Rural General Public Transportation

The general public (any age) who live in qualifying areas of Henderson County can call and request transportation on one of our vehicles. Based on availability.

Americans with Disabilities Act

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in everyday activities. The ADA guarantees that people with disabilities have the same opportunities as everyone else to enjoy employment opportunities, purchase goods and services, and participate in state and local government programs.

ADA Complaint must be filed within 180 days of alleged discrimination.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires a process for individuals to file complaints and if necessary, appeal decisions related to alleged ADA violations. To address the ADA requirement that, if an individual files an ADA complaint and is dissatisfied with the agency’s decision, that they have the right to appeal the decision to a higher level within the agency. 

Any ADA or Reasonable Modifications Appeal will be heard by a separate person or committee than who made the original decision. An appeal may be filed by contacting the Henderson County Transportation Advisory Board (TAB) at 828-697-4819.

Reasonable Modifications

Private transit systems must provide people with disabilities an equal opportunity to benefit from their services. WNCSource will make reasonable modifications to its policies and procedures upon request. To make a request, please call (828) 698-8571 and speak with the Director of Transportation.
