Early Head Start (0 to 3 years old) & Head Start (3 to 5 years old)

Early Head Start and Head Start are nationally funded early childhood education programs that focus on healthy child development and promoting school readiness. Head Start and Early Head Start provide center-based services in the counties of Henderson, Transylvania, and Rutherford for children ages birth to five. In addition, WNCSource maintains formal partnerships with private childcare providers in Henderson, Transylvania, and Rutherford counties to share training and resources to deliver high quality Early Head Start programs. These programs support and encourage the whole family by recognizing that parents are their children’s primary teacher and offering multiple family engagement opportunities throughout the school year. Each child in the program is assigned a Family Advocate to help support the family throughout the school year as well.
